Blue Water Desalination Introduces Voyager Series Watermakers

Blue Water Desalination is excited to announce the launch of the new Voyager Series watermakers, designed to meet the needs of modern cruising yachts without the use of a generator or shore power. Designed from a blank slate for ease of use and maintenance, these watermakers are available in 12V, 24V, and 48V DC, making them perfect for yachts that rely solely on DC power while away from the dock.

The Voyager Series features fully automatic operation and a fresh water flush system, which simplifies operation and maintenance for owner/operators and charter fleet managers alike. Available in 400 GPD and 600 GPD capacities, the Voyager Series boasts a smooth and nearly silent dual piston energy recovery pump, delivering 16 to 25 gallons of pure water per hour. High rejection membranes and a product water carbon filter ensure reliable and high-quality water production.

This is not the first, or only, DC-powered product that Blue Water Desalination has offered, but is the first that has focused solely on catering to the needs of this segment of boat owners. The use of an Energy Recovery device results in a 40% to 50% reduction in amperage draw when compared to BWD’s traditional DC watermakers.

Blue Water Desalination (BWD) disrupted the marine industry with their cutting-edge entries into the yacht-grade reverse osmosis watermaker market. “Floor Reel” Wins World Record Billfish Prize at White Marlin Open

A very big congratulations to the Belcher family and the team aboard Floor Reel for their impressive win at the White Marlin Open. Their 640.5-pound blue marlin secured them a jackpot of over $6.2M! The captain and crew aboard Floor Reel enjoy ultra-pure water produced by the latest technology from Blue Water Desalination.

While the White Marlin Open is known as the richest billfish tournament in the world, a prize payout this big is unheard of. It was made possible due to this blue marlin, caught by angler John Ols, being the only qualifying fish brought to the scales during the tournament. Tournament rules dictate how the prize money for white and blue marlin, and first, second and third place is disbursed, but with only one qualifying billfish brought to the scales, it became a winner-take-all payout.

The total tournament purse for the 50th edition of this Ocean City, Maryland, USA tournament exceeded $10.5M so there was over $4M awarded to other categories including tuna, top boat, top angler and more.

The Floor Reel is a 57-foot custom sportfishing boat which is equipped with the latest in cutting-edge watermaker technology from Blue Water Desalination. Near-endless freshwater is produced by their Express XT 600 in the boat, while a ClearMate Mobile purifies water back at the dock for a spotless washdown.
